I had the chance to visit Mark Schultz in his studio on August 8th. Here’s proof that Mark has been working on his new Xenozoic story. The release date will be determined once he has finished the art and story. I’m guessing the book will come out in sometime in 2019.
The J.A.W. Cooper enamel pins for our Kickstarter supporters are in production! We are now eagerly waiting for them to be manufactured and shipped to our warehouse! We’re sure you’re all as excited as we are for their arrival. If you aren’t, that’s udderly ridiculous.
We can’t wait to get these awesome goodies out to you in October!
We will be sending the shipping address surveys out closer to the shipping date, so keep your eyes peeled for those late September/early October.
More information regarding J.A.W. Cooper’s books can be found on our Flesk website here.
We have an exciting update for you all! The books are being printed, the enamel pins are being designed, and the solo show featuring new works by J.A.W. Cooper is this Saturday! The event is an opportunity to purchase an original J.A.W. Cooper painting or drawing.
Book Update
The three J.A.W. Cooper books Familiars, Flora & Fauna, and Viscera are on the press! I had the chance to review the proofs with Cooper, when we gave the book a final pass before giving the approval to the printer to begin printing. The tentative schedule for when the books will arrive at our Flesk warehouse in Santa Cruz, California is slated for October 2. I’ll keep you posted.
Enamel Pins Update
While the printer is busy with the production of the book, Cooper and I have turned our attention on the enamel pins. We’ve been fine tuning the designs to perfection to take the best advantage of the capabilities on offer by the pin manufacturer. We’ll keep you updated on their progress.

Over this last week there have been two interviews posted online that feature J.A.W. Cooper. I thought that I would share the details about each with you in case you were interested in learning more about Cooper.
The first one was conducted by Bobby Chiu from Schoolism. A portion of this interview is her philosophy regarding freedom vs. income and maintaining a proper balance in life. This hour-long video can be viewed on the Schoolism website, or on YouTube.
The second interview with Cooper was conducted by Walt Morton and is titled “Drawing the Inner Animal With J.A.W. Cooper. It’s an enjoyable read where you can gain much insight into her influences, working methods, and additional details regarding her philosophies.
A lot has happened over the last week with J.A.W. Cooper’s Kickstarter campaign. Stretch goal after stretch goal has been unlocked as we continue to add more goodies for those who have pledged $25 or more.
Our supporters have all helped to make this campaign go far beyond what we could have ever imagined. We are unbelievably grateful for all of the enthusiastic comments, and the help in sharing the news on social media.
There have been three previous stretch goals that were shattered within days; An extra 16 pages of art for Familiars, a slipcase for the hardcover set, and four bonus prints for all pledges of $25 or more. Now, it’s time for another extra special item that will only be available to those who are a part of this campaign.
If we are fortunate to reach the $175K mark we will add a 1 inch enamel pin to every pledge of $25 or more! This new design of “Fig Frog” was made over the weekend by Cooper. This pin will only be available through this Kickstarter campaign. (Note that the design and colors are in progress and may change.)
Thanks again to all of our supporters! We certainly look forward to the possibility of extending this gift to those who pledged.
We launched our J.A.W. Cooper Kickstarter campaign today! I’ve been working with Cooper over the last year to bring these books and prints to life. We’re delighted to finally be able to make them on offer to you all.
The big news is that the book is actually a three book set! Here’s the link the campaign page where you can watch the video and see all of the details.
Enjoy,
John
